At Chikaafu, we are committed to ensuring that your food is delivered quickly and efficiently. This shipping policy outlines the delivery process, timeframes, costs, and conditions related to food delivery.


1. Delivery Timeframes

1.1 Estimated Delivery Time

  • Delivery times vary depending on your location and the restaurant you order from.
  • On average, orders are delivered within 30-60 minutes.
  • The estimated delivery time is displayed in the Chikaafu app at checkout and may change based on real-time conditions.

 

1.2 Factors Affecting Delivery Time

While we strive for timely deliveries, several factors may impact the estimated time, including:

  • Traffic conditions
  • Weather disturbances (e.g., heavy rain, storms)
  • Restaurant preparation time
  • High order volume (during peak hours, weekends, or festivals)
  • Delivery partner availability

In case of delays, users will be notified via the Chikaafu app or their registered contact details.


2. Shipping Methods & Associated Costs

2.1 Standard Delivery

  • Chikaafu operates an on-demand delivery system, where food is picked up directly from the restaurant and delivered to the customer as quickly as possible.
  • Delivery partners are assigned dynamically to optimize delivery times.

2.2 Delivery Charges

  • Standard delivery fees may apply depending on the distance between the restaurant and the user’s location.
  • The exact delivery charge will be displayed at checkout before placing an order.
  • Some restaurants may offer free delivery promotions, which will be clearly mentioned in the app.

3. Delivery Locations

3.1 Serviceable Areas

  • Users must ensure their delivery address is within the serviceable area. Orders placed outside our service zones may be canceled automatically or require an additional delivery fee.

4. Order Tracking

4.1 Tracking Your Order

Users can track their orders in real-time through the Chikaafu app.

Order Tracking Steps:

  1. Open the Chikaafu app and go to the "My Orders" section.
  2. Select the current order to view the delivery status.
  3. The tracking page will show:
    • Order confirmation (restaurant preparing food)
    • Food pickup status (assigned delivery partner)
    • Estimated arrival time (live tracking of delivery partner’s location)

4.2 Delivery Notifications

  • Users will receive live updates via the app and SMS when:
    • The restaurant starts preparing the order.
    • The delivery partner picks up the order.
    • The order is out for delivery.
  • In case of unexpected delays, users will be notified promptly.

5. Order Handling and Preparation

  • Once an order is placed, it cannot be canceled, as restaurants begin food preparation immediately.
  • If the restaurant is unable to fulfill an order due to unforeseen reasons, Chikaafu will notify the user and issue a refund as per the refund policy.
